Admit it, you've always wanted an iPad. Well now you have a chance to win the iPad2 :)
All you need to do is go to my fundraising page and donate $26. You are then automatically eligible to win this prized piece of (rather expensive) technology. Please know that all donations to this page will go towards building a children's center in Jacmel, Haiti.
So what are you waiting for? Help the children out and give yourself a chance to win an iPad 2!
Total raised: $335
Humans are unpredictable beings
So, as I've recently described to you all, I am currently trying to raise funds for the Hope to Haiti project. And let me tell you, it's been quite a rough start.
Everyone knows that when one begins fundraising, the first people you need to contact are family members and neighbors. But you see, my contact list is unfortunately short and I have a high goal of $5,000. So after I made the obligatory phone calls to my relatives, I started asking my friends for help. Realizing that many are in the same financial situations as I, a donation was not requested. All I asked was for them to share the link to my page with others.
A week went by and none of my closest friends had followed through.
So I started messaging old classmates, people that I barely and speak to now. And within 12 hours they had shared my fundraising page with others. I am quite baffled by the behavior I've witnessed, but I am very grateful for the old classmates who were so quick to help out.
Here's to hoping that the next week of fundraising will be easier.
Total raised: $285

Hello, Blogger. We meet again.
Oh hey, look who has resurfaced in the bloggerverse. Let's catch up, shall we?
During my blogging hiatus I've:
- participated in the Great International Scavenger Hunt the World Has Ever Seen. Or GISHWHES for short.
- attended my second, and probably last, Supernatural convention.
- went to my 5th Hanson concert.
But the biggest thing in my life at this moment is the Hope to Haiti project. The earthquake in Haiti may no longer be making headlines, but there are still people who need our support. But I want to do more than just raise funds; I want to go to Haiti and get involved. That's why I have the ambitious goal of raising $5,000* If I'm one of the first 25 people to do so, I will join Random Acts in Jacmel and work on one of their projects.
So my question is...will you help me help Haiti? Even if you are unable to donate, simply sharing my fundraising page with others will be of great help.
I know that I've said this before, but this time I really am going to be updating more; so keep your eyes peeled for more posts as I share my fundraising tales, appropriately tagged "Road to Haiti."
* All donations are going towards tools and supplies required for the project, not for personal travel expenses.
